On the morning of November 7, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trần Đức Thắng had a meeting and working session with Mr. Martin Kabaluapa, Director General of the Country Offices of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), on the occasion of the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on nature conservation and sustainable development between the two sides.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Trần Đức Thắng emphasized that the Government of Vietnam has always placed special importance on the conservation and development of nature. “Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Security, relevant agencies, and local authorities, has launched a joint program to prevent and combat the illegal hunting and trade of wildlife. This program began in November 2025, and we believe it will yield positive results, contributing to the protection of Vietnam’s biodiversity,” he said.
Acknowledging WWF’s contributions over its 30 years of operation in Vietnam, Minister Trần Đức Thắng highly appreciated the organization’s efforts in nature conservation, habitat restoration, and technical support projects implemented in partnership with Vietnam. He affirmed that Vietnam always values its cooperative relationship with WWF and hopes the organization will continue to accompany, provide technical assistance, and contribute resources to support action programs for green development.

“We are committed to working closely with WWF to turn initiatives into concrete and practical actions, serving our shared goals of developing ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, civilized farmers, and protecting nature for a sustainable future,” the Minister emphasized.
In response, Director General Martin Kabaluapa expressed his deep sympathy for the recent losses caused by natural disasters and floods in Vietnam. He also extended his gratitude to the Government, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and relevant agencies for their continued support in enabling WWF to fulfill its conservation mission.

“It is a great honor for me to be here today to meet with the Minister and the leadership of the Ministry on this important occasion. On behalf of WWF International, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Minister for his trust, cooperation, and long-term vision in the field of nature conservation,” he said.
